I am a product of Crenshaw/Leimert Community. I grew up in the area from 1966 to 1990's. I graduated from Audubon MS (1970) & Crenshaw HS (1973). The Broadway store was my after school childcare provider because my friends and I would go to the television department and watch Dark Shadows Soap Opera on the way home from school. I was there when May Co., Vons, Woolworth’s, Boy’s SuperMarket, Lerner’s, Barker Brothers May Co, Newberrys, See's, Broadway, Savons, Karl's Toys,  Ontra Cafeteria, Vons, Desmonds, IHOP, Gallenkamp Shoes, Tom McAnn, Leeds plus many more were around. I still shopped there after I moved out of the area.
